Most of all, our lives changed forever when little Huxley entered our lives. From now on we will no longer be the two of us - we are the family. Every priority and goal we have has now shifted to making Huxley's life the best it can be. He is the symbol of our unity and love and the most incredible fruit of our union as man and wife.
Though it has only been a few days, it seems like forever ago when he was not a part of our lives. pregnancy did nearly nothing to prepare us for the feelings we now have. Everything changed the moment he arrived. Our former life was so different that it feels like it was a hundred years ago.
The wonder and mystery of labor also makes the 29th a forever day. Nothing about the process of birth felt natural. Birth was a painful, fearful experience that makes one question everything in life. No matter how long we live, we will forever remember how profound the experience of that day was. Experiencing the trials of birth shows one that the only thing that matters in life are the bonds we have to others - because they are the ones that see us through tough times. Christa and I needed each other; and in being there we learned how to care for Huxley - forever...
